
Dhaka (May 17): The main opposition Thursday urged the government to sit in a constructive dialogue to resolve the already overheated political standoff.
“If you [PM] are truly patriot, come and let’s reach a consensus. Give peace and stability to people through talks. Let’s come to the light from the dark,” said BNP spokesperson Shamsuzzaman Dudu.
Dudu made the call from a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the evening.
He asked the government to arrange the next general election under the non-party caretaker government system after quitting power.
